Legislative Office Position Title

Office: State Representative

Caucus: Democratic

Description: This is a full-time position for a State Representative office. The position requires an individual to perform administrative and constituent duties. Responsibilities include organizing daily tasks, managing the Representative’s calendar, maintaining positive constituent relations, as well as coordinating and staffing district events. The position requires strong analytical, written and language arts skills and the ability to work under time deadlines. Occasional travel to the district is required.

Salary Range: $27,000 - $30,000

Minimum Qualifications: The applicant must be professional, resourceful, and possess strong administrative, organizational, and clerical skills. A Bachelors degree in business administration or political science is preferred. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, telephone etiquette and positive customer relation skills. Requires proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, GroupWise, and the ability to learn other software applications. Applicant must also be independent and self-motivated, detail oriented, assuming responsibility without direct supervision or direction in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Legislative or governmental experience is a plus.
