Policy Internship

Office/Department: House Republican Policy Office

General Description: The House Republican Policy Office is currently looking to fill internship positions for the 2018 winter spring semester (January through May).  Policy Interns will have the opportunity to assist the Director, Budget Director, Policy Advisors, and Office Manager with research assignments, analytical writing, organizational projects, and standard office tasks.  Selected candidates will gain valuable hands-on office and legislative experience in a professional and fast-paced environment.  Hours are negotiable.


Start Date: January 2018

Pay Range: This is an unpaid position, but college credit is possible. (See your school’s Internship Coordinator or Academic Advisor.)

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be a student, veteran, or participant in job entry program. Strong written communication and research skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work efficiently and independently are required.  Basic computer skills are also required, including a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs.  Previous office experience and knowledge of the legislature and the legislative process are preferred but not required.  Applicants should have a writing sample and references available upon request.

The position is a non-civil service appointment to state government.  All employees of the House of Representatives are considered at-will.
