Legislative Intern

Office: Rep. Theis

Caucus: Republican

Description: The office of Representative Lana Theis of the 42nd District is currently looking to fill internship positions for the 2015-16 academic year. Interns will have the opportunity to assist the Member and their staff in general office operations including constituent relations, communications and monitoring legislation. Selected candidates will gain valuable hands-on office and legislative experience in a fast-paced environment.

Hours: Tuesday and Thursday availability between 9:00AM and 5:00PM is preferred.

Salary Range: This is an unpaid position, but college credit is possible. See your school’s Internship Coordinator or Academic Advisor.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be a student (high school, college or graduate school), veteran, or participant in job entry program. Applicants should have some previous office experience, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, telephone skills, writing skills, and a positive attitude. Please have a writing sample and references available upon request. Knowledge of the Legislature is desired but not required.
